This site has now become very popular, with around 500 visitors per day. To me however this is not good enough and I need your help to make this site even better.
This is what the upgrade will cover:
1. Quick News: I am adding a quick news section to the site, to link to related articles in the press. Each morning I will scour major/local newspapers and see what real estate news is coming out of them and add a tit bit and link to those articles.
2. Related Entries: I will add a new feature called related entries to the site
3. Gravatars: I will allow users to register and add a picture (real or not) of themselves. As an example Elizabeth may add a picture of her likeness (English actor)
4. I would like to have some content coming from you the industry, agents, vendors, portal owners, private sellers, software vendors. The only proviso will be that when you mention your company (if relevant – directly) you have to also mention your competitors etc…..
5. I am getting a new fresh design from one of the best interface designers I know. I will also be adding a photo gallery and reviews of hardware and software.
6. I also want to add a system whereby you can inform other agencies via email of this site.
So tell me what you would like to see………how can I make this better? Hey and remember I do this for free, so if you suggest I buy realestate.com.au then please donate about 700 million via PayPal.

See what I mean ? the quick enquiry thread is now bumped down the page and it only has one post so far, some won’t even look past the first thread so that threads effect is now greatly diminished.
Let people pay if they want to advertise on your site, banner at the top and smaller ones down the margin, then put that money into promotion and away you go……….

All sounds great and fantastic to see this site progressing – it makes for great daily reading and response(s).
There have been a few comments made about the pending launch of myhouse.com.au lately here, can we have a new discussion thread ?
Thanks – media speculation this week suggested a March 19 launch.

Hi Robert. To date I have not seen one article anywhere that quotes anything from a identifiable source from PBL or MyHome on a launch date. It seems News Ltd and Fairfax like to talk of delays and problems and promote anything negative prior to launch.
I will wait to see a date for MyHome from the actual company before getting involved in speculation.
One thing is certain property data will be identical in format to REA and Domain as I doubt they will try anything new.

Sam….The new version will have recent comment RSS Feeds as well as recent posts, quick links, gravatars (user can post pics/graphic of themselves once and it will appear every time they post an article .
There are also around 10 new features. This should be live within 4 weeks. As far as promotion is concerned I want to get agents to send a special email to up to ten people at once to promote the site.
I will not be selling advertising on the site.
